Grand Re-Opening Windsor Breads Bakery and Coffeehouse
Windsor Breads Bakery & Coffeehouse is putting the final touches on its planned remodel and fire cleanup. To celebrate the project completion, Windsor Breads will have a Grand Re-Opening Ceremony on Sunday, October 11, 2026.
Free samples of scones, coffee, muffins (including the Windsor Bread’s beautiful bran muffins) and the Lavender Experiment’s lavender lemonade will be available from 11 am to 1 pm. The ribbon cutting will take place at 11:15 am on Sunday.
We want to thank the DeForest-Windsor Small Business Grant and the Main Street America-Amex Shop Small Grant Program for helping fund the remodel portion of the project.
We also want to thank the amazing community support for Windsor Breads through the years and especially in the last 3 months after the fire. We hope that our new space helps to add to the community that we love.
Cheryl and Keith Ksobeich started Windsor Breads more than 16 years ago, converting the original Windsor State Bank building into a bakery and coffee shop. The Schnell family took over the business 14 years ago and expanded the range of products baked in the Windsor Breads kitchen. With the help of our fabulous staff, we have developed a welcome space for local residents and visitors from afar.
For the last two years, we have explored numerous ways to expand the Windsor Breads location to provide a larger area for our guests. With the help of Keller, Inc. a remodel was all set to begin on August 1, 2026. A fire in the basement on July 13, 2026 put a significant wrinkle in the remodel plans. But, with the hard work of A&J Restoration, Rural Mutual Insurance, our own Windsor Breads staff, and numerous community members, the cleanup and remodel are nearing completion. We hope that you will all join us in celebrating the new chapter in the Windsor Breads community history from 11 am to 1 pm on Sunday, October 11.
