December Luncheon

Guest Speaker: Tresa Martinez & Frank Chandler of TM Consulting and Education, LLC
Topic: This workshop provides attendees with an overview of violence in the workplace, recommended organizational response and prevention measures. These threats may originate from employees, supervisors, customers or others outside your organization. Attendees will learn to identify and react to threatening behaviors. Discussion will include drafting workplace violence policies, recommended procedures to prevent incidents and guidelines for responding to an incident. Caring for involved staff after the fact will also be addressed.
Tresa Martinez has a Master’s Degree in Organizational Social Work, and a Certificate in Corporate Consulting from the UW. She has over 25 years of experience in the field of Social Work, including services in: crisis intervention, child protective services, the Minnesota correctional system and the field of Employee Assistance and Critical Incident Stress Management. Tresa is an instructor and consultant on issues of Employee Assistance, Critical Incident Response, Workplace Violence Prevention, Change Management, PTSD/AODA and Police Officer Suicide Prevention. She is currently the City of Madison’s Director of Employee Assistance and Critical Incident Stress Management Programs, and a part-time instructor at Madison College, and the owner of TM Consulting and Education LLC.
Frank Chandler has a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement Administration and has 27 years experience as a police officer. Frank has worked as a patrol officer, in a street level gang and narcotics unit, as a bloodhound handler, neighborhood officer, investigating serious injury and fatality crashes.
He has worked as a Crime Prevention Officer conducting security audits, training financial institutions on robbery prevention, and conducts training on how to prevent workplace violence, and personal safety. Frank also trained a number of topics for the police academy, most notably Emergency Vehicle
